PURPOSE:To make it impossible for an illegal third person to drive a vehicle and prevent the stealing thereof by providing a means for narrowing space between a seat and a steering wheel on the basis of output from a pilferage detection setting means, and making it difficult to sit on the seat. CONSTITUTION:When the door unlock switch of a theft detection setting means has turned to a lock condition for a seat adjacent to a driver's seat, and then a courtesy switch has closed for the seat adjacent to the driver's seat, 'Theft Monitor Mode' starts in a condition whrerein courtesy switches Cr-Cd are all 'OFF', door unlock switches Dr-Dd are all locked and seating switches Sr-Sd indicate no person inside. In this mode, a seat reclining SEB is turned toward the front side and space between a seat and a steering wheel is narrowed. According to the aforesaid constitution, sitting on the seat or the use thereof becomes difficult and practically impossible without releasing properly the theft detection setting means, thereby making it impossible for an illegal third person to drive and steal a vehicle. |
