PURPOSE:To rotate picture data by 90 deg. with a simple circuit configuration, by reading out the picture data set in a flip flop by shifting them laterally by repeating a shift microinstruction. CONSTITUTION:Picture data are set in the 1st flip flops 6-8 through the 1st selectors 2-3 of a rotation circuit by a pull-down microinstruction. Then the data in the 1st flip flops are set in the 2nd flip flops by the next pull-down microinstruction. When the pull-down microinstruction is repeated by 16 times in the same way, 16 words of data are set in the rotation circuit. Then the 1st-16th flip flops are operated as shift registers by a shift microinstruction and the picture data are laterally shifted through buffers 12-13. When the shift microinstruction is repeated by 16 times, 16 words of data are laterally read out.
