PURPOSE:To prevent the production of bubbles, flowing of bubbles into a following flow path or a print head, when filling a filter with ink from an empty condition, and to prevent the flowing out of bubbles from a filter device due to vibration by standing the filter device while arranging approximately in the rising direction of bubbles and positioning an inlet port higher than an outlet port. CONSTITUTION:A flow path between an inlet hole 10 and an outlet hole 11 is arranged such that it will traverse the face of a filter 15 or it will be approximately horizontal. At this time, the filter 15 is in a filter chamber 22 and fixed approximately in vertical. The ink sucked by means of a suction pump enters through the inlet hole 10 and collides against the filter 15 so as to be filled in an inlet side filter chamber while the preceding ink enters into an outlet side filter chamber 18 and delivered through the outlet hole 11. When the suction is continued, the filter chamber is filled with ink. It is a quite stable condition which does not vary even if the suction is continued for a long time, and air sumps 20, 21 are left respectively above the inlet and outlet side filter chambers. |
