PURPOSE:To obtain the stable and excellent recording/reproducing state by constituting that a pivot is moved to a carriage and constituting a means moved incorporatedly with a gimbal to adjust the press contact relation of a head to a magnetic medium so as to maintain the head location and to obtain degree of freedom of the head. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 2 mounted on a flexible gimbal 1 is mounted incorporatedly onto a head position adjusting pin 4 in combination with the pivot 3 to adjust the head position with respect to a magnetic medium 6 by the axial movement of the head position adjusting pin 4 to the carriage 5. After the adjustment, the four corners of the gimbal 1 and the pivot 3 are adhered to the pin 4 and the carriage 5 to fix the position of the head 2, then the flexible gimbal 1 is in contact with one point of the pivot 3. Thus, the head has a degree of freedom for rotary motion around the said one point.
