NEW MATERIAL:An epoxidized maleimide expressed by formula I [A represents CH2, (CH2)nOCH2, formula II, (CH2)n+1SCH2 or formula III; n represents 0 and a positive integer]. EXAMPLE:N-(2,3-Epoxypropyl)7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]-hept-5-ene-2,3-dicarbox imide. USE:The compound can be used in a wide field as a monomer for reactive, photo- sensitive, electron-beam-sensitive high polymers, etc., because of its functional groups exhibiting two different reaction behaviors. PREPARATION:An imide compound expressed by formula IV is converted into an alkali salt by using an alkali agent such as NaH, etc. Then this alkali salt is reacted with a compound expressed by formula V for epoxidation thereof, followed by reverse Diels-Alder's reaction to obtain the compound expressed by formula I. |
