PURPOSE:To improve lubrication in a shaft sealing portion, by providing a movable seal ring which moves in accordance with a change in the internal pressure of the shaft sealing portion and forms the shaft seal portion by being held in abutment against a seal sleeve mounted on a rotational shaft. CONSTITUTION:When a positive pressure is applied to the inside of a stuffing box 2, a guide sleeve 5 receives the positive pressure for causing a seal ring 3 to move upwardly so that it is held in abutment against the sealing surface of a seal sleeve 7. The guide sleeve 5 is held in abutment against the stuffing box 2 to form a lubricant sealing portion 5b for thereby shutting off a lubricant chamber 4. As a result, lubrication of the shaft sealing portion can be effected well even if the inner pressure of the shaft sealing portion changes. |
