摘要 PURPOSE:To make drive power consumption at standby state smaller than that at an operation state by allowing a clock switching means to supply the 1st clock signal to a drive control means at the operation of a disk drive and to supply the 2nd clock signal at the standby. CONSTITUTION:In reaching the standby state, a CPU 12 outputs a standby signal SB to a switch circuit 14, which is turned on a accordingly and the supply of a clock signal c1 to the CPU 12 from the oscillator 11 is stopped. Further, the switch circuit 14 supplies a clock signal c2 from the oscillator 13 to the CPU 12 instead. The normal drive control is disabled for the CPU 12 but the power consumption is reduced in the case of the clock signal c1. When the release of the standby state is commanded, the CPU 12 applies the control transiting from the standby state into the operation state based on the clock signal c2 to stop the output of the standby signal SB, the switch circuit 14 is turned off and the clock signal c1 from the oscillator 11 is applied again to the CPU 12.
