PURPOSE:To obtain the titled activity improver containing a sugar fatty acid ester as an active component and effective in increasing the solubility of a fungicide and improving the permeability and transferability of the fungicide to plant or pathogenic fungi. CONSTITUTION:The titled activity improver contains a sugar fatty acid ester consisting of a 8-18C saturated or unsaturated fatty acid (e.g. caprylic acid, oleic acid, etc.) and a sugar component (monosaccharide, oligosaccharide or sugar alcohol) and having an HLB of >=11. The agent is crushed preferably to fine powder and applied as it is or in the form of a liquid by combining with wettable powder and water containing a dispersing agent (carrier) such as talc. The amount of the agent is 0.1-1,000pts.wt. (in terms of active component) per 1pt.wt. of the active component of an agricultural or horticultural fungicide. The activity improver is used before, after or simultaneous to the application of the agricultural and horticultural fungicide to be improved.
