PURPOSE:To carry out the starting of an engine safely and securely by forbidding the starting of said engine when said engine is already operated or when the remaining quantity of fuel is less than a defined quantity at a specified time, in a device for automatically starting an engine at a specified time. CONSTITUTION:When the specified starting time of an engine is set, a microcomputer 101 compares the time of a crock 102 with the set specified time. When both of said times agree becoming the specified time, the existence of a pulse of an ignition coil 106 is detected to judge whether the engine is being operated or stopped. And, when the engine is stopped, the position of a shift lever 103 is detected and, if this position is in parking or in neutral, the conditions of a side brake 104 and a fuel gauge 105 is detected and an ignition switch 107 is turned on in accordance with the detected results. Accordingly, the starting of an engine is forbidden when the engine is already operated at a specified time.
