发明名称 PRODUCTION OF CARBON FIBER HAVING HIGH STRENGTH AND ELASTIC MODULUS
摘要 PURPOSE:To produce a high-performance carbon fiber free from microvoids, by carrying out multi-stage flame-resisting treatment of an acrylonitrile fiber while controlling the fiber density within a specific range and subjecting the treated fiber to a low-temperature treatment and a high-temperature treatment. CONSTITUTION:A fiber bundle having a single filament fineness of 0.5-1.8d is introduced into plural treatment furnaces maintained at respective different temperatures within 200-300 deg.C and containing oxidizing atmosphere and is treated under a condition satisfying the formula [k is number of stages; rhoo, rhon and rhok are densities (g/ml) of fed fiber, fiber after the n-th treatment and fiber after the completion of the treatment, respectively; tn is treating time (min) of the n-th treatment] in a manner to give a treated fiber density of 1.34-1.40g/ml. The obtained flame-resisting fiber is subjected to low-temperature heat-treatment at 300-700 deg.C in an inert gas atmosphere and then to high- temperature treatment at a treatment-initiation temperature of 1,000-1,300 deg.C and a maximum temperature of 1,350-1,900 deg.C in an inert gas atmosphere.
