PURPOSE:To prevent the exfoliation and cracking of a plating layer by forming a nickel or nickel alloy plating of a specific thickness over approximately the entire part of spectacle frame parts made of an aluminum alloy or magnesium alloy having a prescribed shape. CONSTITUTION:The nickel or nickel alloy plating layer has 200-500 Vickers hardness and is relatively hard; in addition, said layer has resilience. The exfoliation of the plating layer is obviated even when subjected to bending for the adjustment of the spectacle frame or to flawing and bending stress in ordinary use if such metals are plated to 10-200mu, more preferably 20-50mu thickness. The aluminum alloy to be used is preferably a high-tension aluminum alloy having >=30kg/mm<2> tensile strength. The plating layer is formed over approximately the entire part of the parts to 10-200mu, more preferably 20-50mu thickness so as to enclose the entire part of the parts. The plating layer is liable to exfoliate from the flawed part if said layer is thinner than 10mu.
