PURPOSE:To obtain an energy saving electrode for electrolysis by discharging gas generated by electrolysis together with an electrolytic soln. from a cell through the hollow in an electrode plate so as to prevent the lowering of the electric conductivity. CONSTITUTION:An anode plate 1 is hollowed and an element 4 for connecting the hollow 2 to an external duct 5 is fitted to the plate 1. The element 4 is composed essentially of a flexible pipe and a coupler 6. Small holes 3 leading to the hollow 2 are pierced in the plate 1 in a dispersed state so as to effective suck gas generated on the surface of the anode over the whole surface.
