PURPOSE:To efficiently recover Pt, Pd and Rh from an ammonium chloroplatinate filtrate by electrolyzing the filtrate in an electrolytic cell. CONSTITUTION:An ammonium chloroplatinate filtrate 7 having about 600mg/l initial concn. of Pt and about 2mg/l initial concn. of Rh is poured into an electrolytic cell 1 and the anode 3 and the cathode 4 are placed in the cell 1 so that about 2cm interval is left between the electrodes. The anode 3 and the cathode 4 are made of a Pt-Ti net. The filtrate 7 is then stirred with a magnetic stirrer 2, the electrode potential of the cathode 4 is regulated to about 5V which is higher than the potential at which metallic complexes are deposited and electrolysis is carried out at about 10A/dm<2> cathode current density and about 26 deg.C initial bath temp. Thus, Pt, Pd and Rh are efficiently deposited from the filtrate 7 and recovered.
