PURPOSE:To readily obtain the stable solid state electrochemical element, wherein dispersion in characteristics is small, by heating and compressing an operating electrode of a first tablet and a solid state electrolyte layer of a second tablet under the state a part of current collecting electrode is exposed. CONSTITUTION:The tablet (a) is composed of a reference electrode 4, whose size is so determined that the soldering parts of an operating electrode and current collecting electrode 11 are removed beforehand, and the solid state electrolyte layer 10 so as to form a unitary body. The tablet (b) is composed by an operating electrode 3 into which the current collecting electrode 11 is compressed, the solid state electrolyte layer 2, and an opposite electrode 1 so as to form a unitary body. Both tablets (a) and (b) are individually molded by a press. When said tablet (a) is formed, thermosetting resin, which is reacted and cured when temperature is increased to a certain value or more, is included in the solid state electrolyte layer 10. Then the two tablets (a) and (b) are layered and compressed, heated to the temperature higher than the curing temperature of the resin, and bonded to form a unitary body, thereby forming the element. Then lead is attached to current collecting electrode which is embedded in each electrode, and the outer surface is coated by the resin. |
