PURPOSE:To accurately detect a liquid level without generating an error, by always energizing the liquid level meter supported on the bottom surface of a container downwardly by the repulsive force of the bellows member provided to the upper end of said level meter. CONSTITUTION:A bellows member 8 formed in an elastically expansible and contractible manner is provided to the upper end of a liquid level meter 10 and mounted on a fuel tank 1 so as to be always brought to a compressed state and the lower end thereof is supported on the bottom surface 11 of the fuel tank 1. If the fuel tank 1 contracts or expands by the change in temp., the lower member 3 forming the bottom surface 11 rises or falls and a liquid level rises or falls but, because the liquid level meter 10 is always energized downwardly by the repulsive force of the bellows member 18, the liquid level meter 10 also moves upwardly and downwardly in maching relation to the rising or falling. Therefore, even if the fuel tank 1 contracts or expands, the liquid level can be accurately detected without generating an error.
