PURPOSE:To obtain an image information signal whose bright part and dark part are distinct from each other by subtracting an output signal from a signal generated by adding a constant voltage to the said output, and delaying by a fixed time to amplify the voltage of a fine maximal value part in the said output signal, and binarizing the resulting signal. CONSTITUTION:In an electronic circuit 8, the output image signal of a charge coupled device 7 is converted to the first signal A by an A/D converter 9, the constant value (b) set by means of a dip switch 10 is added to the signal A by an adder 12, and the result is delayed by latch circuits 13 and 14 to generate the second signal B. The signal A is subtracted from the signal B by a compara tor 15 and a decoder 17, And the signal A is added to the resulting signal by a synthesizer 18 to generate the third signal C. The fixed value D from a dip switch 11 is subtracted from the signal C by a comparator 16 to generate a binary signal E which is outputted from a terminal 19 to an image processor. The unstability in the lower signal-voltage of the first signal A is eliminated by the comparing with the second signal B, and the fine bright parts within the dark part range of a film which is an original picture can be correctly binarized.
