PURPOSE:To identify a mold correctly irrespective of culture time, by using a medium composition having a composition consisting of a fixed amount of L-tryptophan, specific amounts of peptone, yeast essence and a dialkali metal hydrogen-phosphate. CONSTITUTION:A medium having a composition consisting of 1pt.wt. L- tryptophan, 1.67-15pts.wt. peptone, 0.33-3pts.wt. yeast essence and 0.16-2pts. wt. dialkali metal hydrogen phosphate wherein the dialkali metal hydrogenphosphate is disodium hydrogenphosphate. The composition is dissolved in about 333-1,000pts.wt. based on 1pt.wt. L-tryptophan of sterilized distilled water to give a medium for testing indole producing ability of glucose nonfermenting Gram-negative bacillus. |
