PURPOSE:To prevent a sensor from receiving the effect of electromagnetic induction by dispensing with a movable power source, by changing the width of the gap between the end surfaces of a pair of optical fibers with pressure. CONSTITUTION:A pair of optical fibers 1, 2 are respectively fixed by optical fiber fixing members 3, 4 and the end surfaces 1a, 2a of the optical fibers 1, 2 are opposed across a gap. If pressure is applied to an elastic material 13, the elastic material 13 elastically deforms so as to reduce the gap between the end surfaces 1a, 2a of the optical fibers 1, 2. The width of the gap between the end surfaces 1a, 2a of the optical fibers 1, 2 has relation proportional to the light transmission loss due to the gap of light transmitted from one of the optical fibers 1, 2 to the other one of them.
