PURPOSE:To secure display after measurement and to reduce the consumption of a battery, by continuing the driving of only a display means when a predetermined time has elapsed from the point of time when the renewal of the max. value of measured temp. bad stopped and stopping sampling operation. CONSTITUTION:The temp. corresponding to bodily temp. is converted to an electric signal by a temp. sensor 6 while said electric signal is converted to a digital value by an A/D converter 7 at every predetermined sampling cycle to be taken in CPU8 and stored in a memory as measured temp. data. CPU 8 has function for judging whether the max. value of measured temp. is renewed and, when a predetermined time is elasped from the point of time when the renewal of the max. temp. is stopped, CPU8 allows the driving of only a display device 4 to continue and stops sampling operation.
