摘要 PURPOSE:To enable prevention of lowering of detecting precision, by a method wherein conversion characteristics, serving to provide an intake air flow rate from an output signal from an air flow rate sensor, is changed depending upon the opening of a bypass passage running around a throttle valve. CONSTITUTION:In a microcomputer 2 in an engine control device 1, the table value of an actual intake air flow rate responding to an output signal from an air flow rate sensor formed with a hot wire 20 is previously set as first characteristics when the opening of bypass passage 12 is fully opened and as second characteristics when fully closed. Based on first and second intake air flow rate data referred from a table and control signal duty ratio data of a bypass valve 31, computing processing is effected to compute an intake air flow rate responding to an air flow rate sensor output signal. This constitution, even if the opening of the bypass passage 12 running around a throttle valve 34 is changed, corrects a change in characteristics of an intake air flow rate due to a change in opening.
