In the continuous production of components, the components are supported on large mould surfaces with the application of high surface pressure without resulting in deformation of the surfaces of the mould. Between the mould surface, is a mould table (25), and the components (10,18) with an air film blowing to reduce friction, move along the table. This produces the required retention pressure, and provides a flat press surface.
