PURPOSE:To give correct exposure to a principal object even if there are plural areas whose distances should be measured, by discriminating the number of areas at the focal length of a photographic lens is one or plural. CONSTITUTION:A distance measuring means which measures distances from a camera to plural areas of the object, a light measuring means which measures light in the same areas as distance measuring, a means which detects whether the number of areas to be subjected to distance measuring at the object distance is one or not, and a photometric value determining means are provided. Plural areas of the object are subjected to distance measuring as well as light measuring, and a photometric value is determined in accordance with the detection result of said detecting means. That is, if there is one area to be subjected to distance measuring at the object distance, the photometric value of this area is determined as the photometric value; and if there are plural areas to be subjected to distance measuring at the object distance, an average value of photometric values of all areas is determined as the photometric value. Thus, the photometric value approximating that general average light measuring is obtained, and there is a great possibility that a satisfactory exposure is obtained. |
