PURPOSE:To enable execution of optimum preliminary injection in consideration of unevenness and a change with time of an engine, by a method wherein preliminary injection can be controlled so that the detecting in-cylinder pressure is minimized. CONSTITUTION:Fuel is preliminarily injected through a nozzle 11 at a given injection timing and in desired injection amount. A detecting signal for an in-cylinder pressure is fed as an in cylinder pressure signal to a controller 2. After, through comparison of present and preceding in-cylinder pressure signals with each other, a data map of a sleeve angle desired value is renewed or the correcting direction of a desired value is reversed, an in-cylinder pressure is inputted in a constant running state agains. The desired value of a sleeve angle is further renewed to calculate a new desired value. A drive control signal is fed to a motor 8 so that an actual sleeve angle is coincided with a desired value to rotate a worm 9 of a preliminary injection mechanism 1 to control the angle of a sleeve 10. This constitution controls preliminary injection to an optimum state so that an in-cylinder pressure is minimized. |
