PURPOSE:To prevent a toner image from existing by providing an irregular reflecting face, which irregularly reflects the light from a light source, on the upper face of an original platen reference part. CONSTITUTION:When an original 4 to be copied is put on an original platen 10 on a transparent substrate and a device is operated, the light from a light source 30 is projected to the surface of the original 4 through the platen 10 and an air layer. Through the gap between a front end part 40 of the original 4 and the reference part of the platen 10 is not covered with the original 4 in this case, the light from the light source 30 is irreqularly reflected on an irregular reflecting face 50 and is transmitted to an optical mechanism 3 and is sufficiently projected onto a photosensitive drum 20 because the irregular reflecting face 50 which irregularly reflects the light from the light source is provided near the reference part. Thus, a toner powder is not stuck to the part of the drum corresponding to the original platen reference part 110. consequently, the light irregularly reflected on the irregular reflecting face 50 is projected to the drum 20, and the front end of a copy paper passes the part where the toner is not stuck, and the toner is not transferred to this front end part from the drum 20.
