PURPOSE:To decrease the access time by providing respectively a light emitting element to one of an optical pickup main body and a moving part and a photodetector to the other and adding a tracking correction servo mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The light emitting element 50 is provided to either the optical pickup main body 10 or the moving part 20 and a couple of the photodetectors PD1, PD2 arranged in the tracking drive direction of the moving part 20 are provided to the other while being opposed to the light emitting element 50. Further, the tracking correction servo mechanism 40 which detects the displacement in the tracking direction of the moving part 20 by using a signal from a couple of the photodetectors PD1, PD2 and apply the feedback control is added to the tracking servo mechanism 30. Thus, the vibration of the moving part 20 caused at the accessing is damped quickly to reduce the access time.
