PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of a sheet and the exfoliation of a recording layer by providing a means driving a carriage to drive the carriage around one guide means and parting a head from a recording disk medium. CONSTITUTION:In moving a lock plate 17 to the right, a guide rod 16 enters relatively a notch 47 formed at the right end of the lock plate 17. When the notch 47 of the lock plate 17 receives the guide rod 16 the lock plate 17 receives the upward force by its slope 46. Thus, the carriage 13 supporting the lock plate 17 receives similarly the upward force and the carriage 13 is driven counter clockwise around the guide rod 15. Thus, the magnetic head 14 supported by the carriage 13 is parted from the magnetic disk 11. As a result, the plastic deformation of the sheet of the disk 11 is prevented and the exfoliation of the magnetic powder applied to the surface of the disk 11 by the head 14 is avoided.
