PURPOSE:To reduce the generating amount of nitrogen oxides by a method wherein a burner head, provided with a plurality of primary flame ports, is covered by a primary combustion chamber, provided with secondary flame ports on the upper part thereof, while the secondary air outflow port of a secondary air supplying passageway, formed in the primary combustion chamber, is provided in the secondary flame ports. CONSTITUTION:A burner head 11, provided with a plurality of primary flame ports 12, is covered by a primary combustion chamber 13, provided with secondary flame ports 14 at the upper part thereof, while the outflow port 19 of secondary air of a secondary air supplying passageway 18, formed in the primary combustion chamber 13, is arranged in the secondary flame ports 14. Primary combustion in the primary combustion chamber 13 is effected in a degree higher than a combustible limit effected principally by the primary air and lower than the same effected by the logical amount of air. As a result, the generating amount of nitrogen oxides (NOx), especially that of nitrogen dioxide NO2, may be reduced.
