PURPOSE:To increase rigidity against a bolt fastening load to a bolt housing part in a connecting rod, by installing, in parallel with the axis of the bolt, a fiber-reinforced member on the connecting rod bolt housing made of fiber- reinforced resin. CONSTITUTION:A connecting rod 11 is constructed in such a manner that, around a bolt hole 18 that is made near both a rod part 15 and a cap part 16 in a wider portion 13 of the connecting rod 11, both ends of resin member 19 forming a bolt housing part are fabricated into one integrated body with many fiber-reinforced members 20 running parallel with the direction of the axis of the bolt hole 18. Since a bolt, which has been inserted into the bolt hole 18, is fastened by means of a nut, deformation of the bolt housing part can be prevented owing to the fiber-reinforced member 20 installed in parallel with the axis of the bolt 18 on the both sides of the resin member 19 of the bolt housing part. In addition, fatigue breakdown of the rod part 15 and the cap part 16 of the wider end part 13 due to cyclic loads imposed on the parts can be prevented. |
