PURPOSE:To reduce man-hours to always monitor the presence/absence of the generation of a fault, by storing the state of a hardware in a fault processing device at the generating time of the fault, specifying a fault part by analyzing the above state, and sending the name of the fault part to a remote maintenance center device through a communication line. CONSTITUTION:Assuming the fault is generated at a processor 6, a hardware fault detecting means 106 sends a signal to show the generation of the fault to a log collecting means 20. The log collecting means 20, after defining a log number to identify the fault, and writing the log number on a disk 60 in a diagnostic device 10, writes the bit of information of a hardware internal state at a position corresponding to a defined log number in the fault processor 6 collected through a diagnostic interface 96, and supplies the log number to be analyzed to a fault analyzing means 30, then driving it. The fault analyzing means 30 can specify the name of the fault part, by reading out, and analyzing the bit of information of the hardware internal state corresponding to a supplied log number. |
