PURPOSE:To prevent a transducer mounting means and a storage medium from the contact by approaching a rigid structure support contact part onto a plane formed by the floating face of the transducer mounting means. CONSTITUTION:A slider 20 being the transducer mounting means is fixed to the slider fitting part 16 by an adhesives or the like. A soft structure support 11 fitted with the slider 20 is constituted that the contact end of the rigid structure support 1 of a branch 13 is approached to the plane formed by the floating face 19 of the slider 20 with respect to the fitting part side end of the flexible branch 13. The branch 13 is subjected to the moment of inertia and a shearing force by the seek acceleration at the seek state. The change in the floating quantity caused by the tilt of the branch 13 due to the shearing force is exerted in a direction to reduce the reduction of floating quantity due to the tilted branch 13 by the moment of inertia. Thus, the floating quantity of the slider 20 at the seek state is reduced.
