PURPOSE:To obtain a multicolor image having no color deviation by preventing a potential from being generated in a non-image part in a color image forming device provided with a color separating function member. CONSTITUTION:While a photosensitive body 4 is rotated once in the direction of an arrow, the surface of the photosensitive body 4 is electrified to a uniform potential by an electrifier 5, and the surface potential of the photosensitive body 4 is made uniform by electrifiers 16 and 26 of DC corona discharge having a sign opposite to that of the electrifier 5 while exposing an image to the electrified surface by an image exposure device 6. Next, the blue light due to a lamp 7B or the like is projected to the image exposed surface to form a potential pattern which gives an image in the complementary color to blue to the image exposed surface, and development is performed by a developing device 8Y of a yellow toner. The surface potential of the photosensitive body 4 is made uniform by an electrifier 9Y. The green light due to a lamp 7G is projected to form a potential pattern which gives an image in a color complementary to green, and development is performed by a developing device 8M of a magenta toner to form a bicolor toner image on the surface of the photosensitive body 4. The similar processing is performed hereafter to form a combinational image of three-color toner images of yellow, magenta, and cyan which is free from color deviation.
