PURPOSE:To simultaneously perform a reading operation and a printing operation, to improve an operation efficiency and to simplify the device by incorporating a reading part and a printing part in a same anclosure. CONSTITUTION:The printing part performs a printing processing to a medium carried from a carrier part 2 by a printing mechanism 3. This printing part 1 is incorporated in the same enclosure together with an optical character reading mechanism part 4 and a carrier mechanism part 5. At the optical character reading mechanism part 4 the reading medium 7 inserted from a reading medium inserting port 6 is irradiated by light from a light source 4a, the reflected light is light received by a CCD (charge connecting element) 4b, converted into an electric signal to read. The carrier mechanism part 5 has a carrier path succeeding to the carrier part 2 of the printing part 1, and the reading medium 7 is fed to a reading medium stacker part 8 passing through the carrier part 2. An printing medium 10 inserted from a printing medium inserting port 9 is subjected to the printing processing, thereafter discharged from a printing medium discharge part 11.
