PURPOSE:To make it possible to cut a work with the cutting condition as same as that in a profile machining by providing means for indexing a profile speed from a digitalized locus, and setting the machining speed of NC machining data by the use of the profile speed from said means. CONSTITUTION:A digitalizer 3 which digitalizes the position of a linear scale 2 is connected to a NC data maker 4 together with an automatic divider 7 of machining speed. A profile speed is indexed by the divider 7 using the following formula: machining speed=Xn-Xn-1/DELTAt, where Xn-1 is the linear scale position after DELTAt second has passed, DELTAt is a sampling time for calculation. After the profile speed is indexed, it is set as the feeding speed of NC data by means of a machining setter 6, while the extent of actual time of the profile speed is always reflected on the feeding speed of digitalized NC data.
