PURPOSE:To utilize an extension by providing an identification information storage means for storing identification information of a user at each extension telephone set to avoid the handling of absence for other users even when one user in plural users applies absence registration. CONSTITUTION:Information identifying the user at each extension is stored in an extension data area 5 and if a user A2 of an extension A is absent due to leaving of its seat, the telephone set of extension A is hooked off and a user number '2' representing the user A2 is dialed, then an outgoing register 7 is received and the reception information is sent to a central control unit 3. The central control unit 3 compares the sent user number '2' with user registration numbers '1'-'4' of an extension data area 5. As a result, when the user number '2' is not unregistered (bit information is 0) the extension A is connected to a busy trunk 8 and the unregistration is notified.
