The present invention relates to safety equipment for controlling and monitoring mechanical or hydraulic machines. This equipment 10 essentially consists of a chest 11, of a main selector 12 designed to select an operational mode of the machine 13 and at least one two-handed switch 14 arranged to monitor a two-handed control desk 15. The chest 11 contains an electronic control circuit arranged to control the machine according to the operational mode selected. This circuit is composed of a set of switches connected to luminous indicators making it possible to monitor various functions of the machine and of its auxiliaries. The equipment is intended to be combined with folding presses, stamping machines, cutting machines of the guillotine type, punches or the like with the aim of adapting them to the safety regulations currently in force. <IMAGE>
