In a printer comprising a source 1 of light rays 2 deflected towards a printer drum 4, the deflector means are constituted by at least one series of optical fibres a-1 whose ends, known as proximal ends a2-12 are arranged into at least one portion of a circle 12 and whose ends, called distal ends a1-12 describe, at the surface of a cylinder 3, at least one curve such that the projection a'-1' of these distal ends on a generatrix g-g' of the printer drum 4 parallel to the longitudinal axis x-x' of the cylinder gives a succession of points which scans the whole of this generatrix, the said fibres being moved in rotation around the longitudinal axis x-x' of the cylinder and the proximal ends of the fibres being successively exposed to the said light ray 2. <IMAGE>
