The invention relates to a novel coupling system between the body 1 and the movable finger 2 of a mountaineering crab (karabiner) which prevents any unexpected coupling with a strap. It consists of an edge 7 which occupies the inner space of the hook 4 arranged at the end of the body 1 (or of the finger) of the crab (karabiner). The device of the invention is intended particularly for crabs (karabiners) offering improved safety for the users. <IMAGE>
