PURPOSE:To improve the light fastness of a yellow dye image by incorporating a two-equiv. yellow coupler having at least one -COO- group in a coupler residue other than a group which is released by coupling with the oxidized product of a color developing agent and a specified compound into a silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:A two-equiv. yellow coupler having at least one -COO- group in a coupler residue other than a group which is released by coupling with the oxidized product of a color developing agent and a compound represented by formula I are incorporated into a silver halide emulsion layer. In the formula I, R1 is alkyl or alkoxy, J is alkylene, each of R2 and R3 is alkyl, n=1, 2 or 3 and in case of n>=2, the groups R1 may be different from each other. A typical concrete example of the compound represented by the formula I is represented by formula I-1. |
