PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a cleaning blade and to reduce the running cost of a blade cleaning device by making the sectional shape of the front end part of a blade acute and making the radius of the edge front end part small than the radius of developing toner particles. CONSTITUTION:The metallic thin piece type blade 23 is made of a hard steel plate such as a SK material, a stainless plate such as SUS301 and SUS420, a phosphorus bronze plate, etc. Further, the angle theta of the edge part 23a is made acute, the radius RB of the blade front end is made small than the radius RT of developing toner particles 25, and the angle of the uncleaned side of a photosensitive drum 13 and the metallic thin piece type blade 23 is an acute angle. Consequently, the load placed on the blade edge 23a is reduced and the material is much harder than the surface of the photosensitive body, so the quantity of edge abrasion decreases greatly and the blade is usable for a long period. |
