A meshing means, controlled by an inertia body, for toothed control wheels in locking devices for vehicle safety belts comprises a movable contacting portion (26), which is adapted to abut against the inertia body (18), and a meshing portion (21), controlled by the contacting portion and adapted to engage with a tooth (24) of the control wheel (14). The contacting portion is arranged to be moved by the inertia body from an idle position, in which the meshing portion is not in engagement with the control wheel, to an active position, in which the meshing portion is in engagement with the control wheel, to provide cooperation between the meshing means and the control wheel for locking the safety belt. The meshing portion (21) is adapted to be resilient with regard to the contacting portion (26), when the meshing portion hits the control wheel (14), so that the risk of boucing of the meshing portion is reduced. The contacting portion may be a separate member or a member connected to the meshing portion.
|
