The valve (12) preferably comprises a hose-like elastomer body (17), the narrower end portion (17'') of which surrounds a stud (21) on a piston (20) and the remaining portion of which is held elastically in a bore accommodating the piston (20). When the piston (20) is displaced, the elastomer body (17) is compressed between a fixed abutment (11) and the piston (20) and bulges out elastically; at the same time, the stud (21) pushes to an increasing extent into the region of the elastomer body (17) of larger inside diameter. A passage between a radial hole (23) with an adjoining axial channel (24) and an interior space (18) is accordingly opened. The valve preferably serves as an air release valve for pressure sleeves of blood-pressure measuring equipment. <IMAGE>
