PURPOSE:To prevent unnecessary toner from sticking on a photosensitive body and to improve the copying function of the photosensitive body by transferring an image on the photosensitive body to transfer paper effectively and removing unnecessary charges from the photosensitive body speedily by an electrostatic discharging lamp. CONSTITUTION:The transfer paper is placed in transfer operation completely up to its rear end and charges on the surface of the photosensitive drum 1 which is charged electrostatically excessively by corona discharge are removed through a transparent guide plate 5 with light from the electrostatic discharging lamp 6 which irradiates the surface. The discharging lamp 6, on the other hand, irradiates the transfer paper right after the transfer to remove some of remaining charges and thus reduce the electrostatic attracting force of the transfer paper to a photosensitive drum 1. Consequently, the separation of the transfer paper from the photosensitive drum 1 is improved and the conveyance of the transfer paper is also improved by the association of the transparent guide plate 5. |
