A triangular package with a bead is produced from a blank which has four mutually parallel rectangular wall sections (11 to 14) which, when doubled, form the longitudinal walls of the package. Sections (2 to 24, 34, 35) which form the bead adjoin the ends of these wall sections (11 to 14). The erection of a blank, resulting in such a triangular package, by hand requires great effort, which means that such triangular packages have in practice only been used where sufficiently large numbers permit the use of machinery to erect the blank. By means of the invention, the use of such triangular packages is also to be made possible in the case of lower numbers. In a blank designed according to the invention, the two outer wall sections (13, 14) are bonded flatly to the adjacent inner wall sections (11, 12). Adjoining the inner wall sections (13, 14) are triangular sections (23, 24), one of which is designed as a gusset fold (23). The outer part (28) of the gusset fold bounded by the fold line (27) is bonded to the other triangular section (24) such that the inner part of the gusset fold forms a kind of coupler for the other section (24), which coupler results in the erection of a support, formed by said sections (23, 24), for the inner wall of the bead when the blank is erected, said support also defining the intended position of the longitudinal walls (1, 2).
