In a method for suppressing acoustic feedback in video conference systems comprising a number of video conference studios (10) which are in each case connected by a bidirectional video channel (18) and a bidirectional audio channel (20) to a switching device (16) jointly allocated to them, the respective video channel (18) is analysed with respect to the correspondence of the transmitted video signal transmitted by the respective video conference studio with the received video signal received by it and at least one of the measures for feedback suppression, known per se, is undertaken in the respective audio channel (20) if the degree of correspondence found exceeds a predetermined value.
