PURPOSE:To achieve the automation of probing work, by automatically connecting ground wires of a probe body and a robot when both are connected. CONSTITUTION:A ground wire 21 is arranged on a support metal 14 of a robot 13 piercing a receptacle 20A through an insulating material 19. This ground wire 21 is connected to a ground connection mechanism not illustrated of a printed circuit board 22 through an arm of the robot 13. Therefore, upon the vacuum suction of a probe holder 50 to the robot 13, a connection terminal 11 of a holder 50 gets in contact with the tip of a contact probe 20b of the metal 14 to connect a ground wire 5a to a ground of the printed circuit board 22 automatically through an arm or the like of the robot 13. This eliminates the need for connecting ground wires of individual holders 50 to the ground of the printed circuit board 22 while getting rid of entanglement of the ground wires, thereby enabling the automation of probing work.
