PURPOSE:To improve the brazability of an iron alloy used as a lead material for a ceramic package type lead which undergoes brazing by specifying the amounts of Ni, Si, Cr and Fe. CONSTITUTION:This iron alloy for a lead material has a composition consisting of 30-55wt% Ni, 0.3-1wt% Si and the balance Fe or further contg. 3-8wt% Cr. The iron alloy shows superior brazability when used as a lead material for a ceramic package type which undergoes brazing.
