A system for supporting and guiding adjustable partition-wall elements is proposed. Supporting and guiding carriages carrying the individual elements of a partition wall are arranged adjustably in supporting and guiding rails. As a result of the special design of the rails and carriages, it is possible for the elements to travel even over crossings, over any angles and over branches in a simple way. The system is especially suitable for those partition walls which are to be assembled quickly and frequently, if appropriate at different locations, and thereafter are to be moved into a stowage region again.
