PURPOSE:To obtain the titled element capable of lessening turbulence of light distribution due to a difference in level by including a TFT driving circuit and a color filter in one of the liquid crystal substrates, and by forming the color filter so as to be the same thickness to the difference in level which produces in the TFT driving circuit. CONSTITUTION:The color filter which is provided in a conventional type liquid crystal display element, is not mounted on one of the liquid crystal substrate 1a, and said liquid crystal substrate is covered with the orientation film 4a. While, the TFT film 5 is provided on an another one of the substrate 1b in the same manner to the conventional type element. However, the color filter 3 is provided on the substrate so as to utilize the difference in level which produces on the TFT film 5. The part which necessitates the max. thickness in the TFT film 5 is the transistor part 5a converging an electric network for wiring and a semiconductor connecting part. The cavity of the difference in level which intends to mount the color filter 3 on the substrate is suited to a position of providing a picture element part, namely, a dot-shaped transparent electrode 2b, of the dot matrix driving type liquid crystal element, And said position is the most suitable position which provides the color filter 3. |
