<p>A torsional vibration damper, for example for a driven place of a friction clutch, comprises first and second rotatable members in the form of a radially directed annular element (33) arranged between two radially directed annular elements (29, 31) of ferromagnetic material. The first and second rotatable members are coupled together and movable angularly with respect to each other about a common axis of rotation. A magnetic circuit passes through both members and includes gaps (34, 35) between the members across which magnetic fields are established. A viscous magnetic fluid is held in the gaps by the magnetic fields and provides viscous damping of relative angular movement between the members.</p> |
