A complex which comprises luciferase bound to a bead of a substrate material bound to a component which is a binding partner specific to a biological component, whereby the complex can be used to detect the presence of the biological component. When the binding partner is bound to the biological component, e.g. a bacterium, that component may be rosetted by a plurality of the binding partner-bead-luciferase complexes. This may facilitate assay and separation of the component. |
